Hello Friends,
For the new year, I am going to be giving away a little box of nature from right up here, where I live, in Sequoia National Forest. I can’t tell you exactly what will be in the box as it is a SURPRISE!, but all I can say is that it will contain beautiful bits of lovely things that grow, or adorn, the 5,000 foot level of this part of the Sierra Nevada mountain range.
I have never done a giveaway, and this is all very new to me. Frankly, switching from wordpress.com to hosting my own site has been challenging, and oftentimes leaves me feeling like I am in “over my head” and about ready to give it all up! To calm myself, I go outside and lay on the ground, or a take a walk deep in the forest, and admire the beauty all around me. It helps to take a moment to remember what is truly important in my life, and nature helps me do this. This is what I want to share, something from my land to yours!
In case you are wondering just what might be in this “box of nature”, let me tease you a bit… could it contain a chunk of speckled granite? A pair of Sequoia pinecones? A twisted branch of manzanita? Three rocks to stack in a perfect cairn on your wintry doorstep? Enter to find out!
Sometimes, at the new year, we are bombarded with talk of “resolutions” and “losing weight” and all of the other things that we are supposed to be doing, or NOT doing. Let this year be about hope, connection with nature, and sweet surprises instead!
